8th Annual Shearing Festival

Watch for upcoming dates in 2017. Usually end of April, beginning of May

Join the fun at our annual Shearing Festival. We talk about the different grades of fleece, what each grade is used to make, the characteristics of the elite suri alpaca fiber, the process of fiber processing along with what makes one fleece better than another. There will be lots of fiber-related activities including weaving, spinning, knitting and crocheting demonstrations. The Fiber and Farm Store will be open and filled with lots of alpaca and yak yarns and products.

If you see a fleece that you want to have, make us an offer! Many times, we sell a blanket from one of our animals before they are even shorn.

Farm Tours

Schedule a tour of our farm for your school, scout group, 4H Club, civic organization, senior citizens group, family or a group of friends. Meet our animals and learn about their history, how to care for them, their habits and sounds and see first hand the wonder of animals. If we still have chores to do, you can help if you like. This is a free educational event but a fun experience that lasts about one hour or so. Children are always welcome.
